About

Leigh Davies is an award-winning music producer and creative technologist working across sound, interaction and public space. His practice is rooted in a music-first approach, developing original compositions alongside the systems and structures that allow people to physically engage with them. Through a combination of production, design and hands-on making, he creates interactive experiences where audiences shape music through movement, curiosity and play - taking music beyond the pixel and outside of the screen.
His work sits within Ludic Music - spatial, interactive musical experiences that position exploration, collaboration, and play as compositional forces. Whether built with high-tech sensing systems or low-tech, handcrafted materials, these works treat environments, objects, and behaviours as instruments, music compositions, and live performances in their own right. Rather than presenting music as a fixed output, Ludic Music invites audiences to explore, influence and co-create evolving musical sound worlds.
Leigh is also co-founder of pyka, an organisation focused on developing and deploying alternative sound and music interaction platforms across public, cultural, and commercial contexts.
