A binaural audiovisual children's storybook based on the classic Aesop's fable.
The Thieves & The Cockerel is an immersive children’s audiobook created by Spacewalk Audio for mobile and tablet devices. The audiobook follows the storyline of the famous Aesop’s fable of the same title and features advanced sound design such as binaural recording and three-dimensional sound placement to create an immersive storytelling experience.
I was contracted to lead the character design, scenery design, and the creation of the full set of illustrations for this project. This process required a mixture of traditional character and scenery design methods along with fixed perspective compositional layouts to ensure that the two-dimensional illustrations were able to support the binaural audio content and place the audience at the centre of the experience for all audio events triggered throughout the storytelling experience.
